Custom Koi Pond Design Package

We'll help you build it right the first time, so you can enjoy it for a lifetime

With our Pond Design Package, Sacramento Koi carries that same commitment forward—helping you plan, design, and equip your pond the right way from the start.

A pond may look beautiful at first, but without the right design and equipment, it can quickly become a source of frustration—demanding constant maintenance and costly repairs. Will your pond remain a peaceful escape for years to come, or will it become a burden you regret? With thoughtful planning, your pond can be a haven of beauty and relaxation, rather than a source of stress and upkeep.

Here’s a quick look at what’s included in our Koi Pond Design Package.

Our Pond Design Package includes the following to ensure your success:

  1. Professional pond design help.
  2. The right equipment.
  3. Our superior personal service.

Professional Pond Design Help

Whether you’re the architect, builder, or homeowner, we’re here to help you design a successful koi pond.

Whether you’re the architect, builder, or homeowner, we’ll help you design a pond you can enjoy from the very first day and for years to come. A pond should be both beautiful and simple to maintain. From start to finish, our focus remains on creating a system that’s easy to care for and built for lasting enjoyment.
Once the design is approved, Sacramento Koi provides detailed CAD drawings of your new pond. These drawings clearly show how each component fits together, ensuring a shared understanding between the designer, contractor, and homeowner throughout construction.
Important design details are often overlooked when building a pond, and these can have a major impact on overall pond quality and koi health. For example:
• Bottom contour: Designing the proper pond floor slope helps create a virtually self-cleaning surface, minimizing the need for brushing or netting debris—or worse, the costly and stressful process of a full pond clean that requires temporarily removing the koi.
• Depth and plumbing: A pond that is too shallow will increase the risk of predator attacks on your koi. Likewise, undersized plumbing can lead to higher energy costs and potential clogging issues over time.
• Circulation and water flow: Having the correct number of bottom drains and jets is essential to maintaining strong water movement, clear water, and a healthy pond environment.
• Underwater lighting: The placement and number of underwater lights play an important role in enhancing the pond experience. Properly positioned lighting extends enjoyment into the evening hours. At night—without glare on the water’s surface—the koi appear more vivid than ever. The goal of lighting is to illuminate the koi, not just the pond, making thoughtful placement especially important.

None of these items is overlooked when we support you in designing your pond.

The Right Equipment

The heart of a successful koi pond is the filtration equipment.

We will specify in detail all of the equipment necessary to ensure your pond operates as an efficient, well-balanced system, including any optional features you may desire. The heart of every successful koi pond is the filtration system, and to ensure your success, we use our Advantage Plug and Play System. This system was designed with both the builder and the homeowner in mind. It is the most straightforward koi pond filtration system available to install, maintain, and service.
It’s also the only filtration system backed by a one-year, unconditional satisfaction guarantee.* We guarantee you’ll love the ease of maintenance and the water quality it provides—or we’ll buy it back, no questions asked.
*See Satisfaction Guarantee details for full terms and conditions.
Having a complete equipment list simplifies the bidding process for everyone involved, and sourcing all equipment through a single supplier streamlines warranty coverage should any issues arise.
We have extensive experience designing ponds as complete, functional systems. This experience allows us to recommend reliable approaches that provide long-term performance, durability, and ease of maintenance.

Unparalleled Customer Service

From pond startup to maintaining it, we're here for you.

After your pond is built, our support doesn’t end there. We guide each homeowner through the startup process to properly condition the pond and its water so koi can be added safely. Once the pond is established, we continue to provide guidance on keeping it balanced and thriving, including how to care for and maintain your equipment so it stays in top working condition.

And finally, here’s another benefit of choosing Sacramento Koi: becoming part of our extended family means access to our personally selected koi. Each October, we travel to Japan to hand-select some of the most beautiful koi available, offering our customers the opportunity to bring home truly exceptional fish.
